Restrict Explicit Content Spotify

Explicit content is present in every facet of the entertainment industry, including Spotify. There are songs with explicit lyrics and podcasts with explicit content on the music platform. In this context, “explicit” refers to sexual content, abusive content, profanity, or any allusion to violence and aggressiveness. Spotify is a platform that caters to all types of users and age groups. As a result, there may be moments when improper or adult content is paired with an inappropriate audience. In such instances, it is best to restrict explicit content. Here’s how to restrict explicit content on Spotify for someone under 18, yourself, or for a special event that requires it.

Restrict Explicit Content In Spotify Desktop App

1 – Open Spotify on your desktop. Select the username tab in the top right corner of the screen and pick ‘Settings’ from the menu.

2 – On the ‘Settings’ screen, check the toggle button next to the ‘Explicit content’ option. If it’s green, click to turn it to grey. A grey toggle indicates that playback of explicit-rated content is disabled. Green indicates that explicit content playback is enabled on Spotify.

On the Spotify desktop app, explicit content is no longer visible.

Restrict Explicit Content In Spotify Mobile App

1 – Launch Spotify on your phone, go to the screen’s top right corner and tap the ‘Settings’ button (gear symbol).

2 – Navigate to the ‘Settings’ screen and look for the ‘Allow Explicit Content’ option. Check that the toggle is grey. If not, tap the toggle to turn it from green to grey.

Click/tap the same toggle corresponding to the relevant options on the respective devices to permit explicit content on your Spotify desktop or mobile app.

What Happens When Explicit Content Playback Is Restricted On Spotify?

When you disable explicit content playback on Spotify, all explicit content – music, podcasts, episodes, series, and so on – becomes unclickable.

If you continue to click on the explicit item, you will be informed that the content is inaccessible.

Conclusion:

That refers to restricting explicit content on your Spotify devices. Of course, explicit content isn’t for everyone and should not be for some. We hope you find our advice on restricting explicit content on Spotify helpful!
